Charges


  • If you choose not to go ahead with a repair after receiving an estimate, Fix My Mac will return your product to you un-repaired and charge you a diagnostic fee of £40. The diagnostic fee covers reasonable inspection and testing time.
  • If you decide to proceed with repairs and subsequently change your mind, you remain liable for; Parts purchased for the repair and Labour, if the repair has been completed.
  • All charges are due when your product is returned to you unless agreed otherwise.
  • The right to charge interest on late payments and compensation for debt-recovery costs is reserved.

Parts


  • When repairing your product, Fix My Mac may use new, used or reconditioned parts. You will be told in advance if used or reconditioned parts will be used.

Responsibilities


  • If the repair service Fix My Mac is providing involves transferring information or installing software, you agree that you have the legal right to copy the information and agree to the terms of the relevant software licence. You authorise Fix My Mac to transfer the information and accept the terms of such software licence on your behalf so that Fix My Mac can carry out the repair service.
  • It is your responsibility to back-up all existing data, software and programs before receiving service from Fix My Mac. While we take reasonable care to avoid data loss during the repair, we cannot guarantee against it, especially on failing hardware.
  • Should your hard drive display symptoms of failure, you will be made aware of this prior to work beginning. Your agreement to proceed will be taken as an indication that you understand the risks involved. It is entirely possible that your hardware could fail while your system is being worked on. It is your responsibility to make it clear (preferably in writing via e-mail) exactly what, if anything, is to be backed up prior to work commencing. Backed up data will be securely retained for a period of 30 days beginning from the date your Mac is returned to you. After a period of 30 days, or sooner at your written request, the data will be securely deleted and lost forever. Fix My Mac will not be held responsible for any data lost should you ask us to proceed with work on a system that you have been made aware of the fact that it displays symptoms of hardware failure.

Information About You


  • You agree and understand that it is necessary for Fix My Mac to collect, process and use your data in order to perform the repair service and support obligations under these Terms. If you would like to have access to the information that Fix My Mac holds concerning you or if you want to make changes, get in touch at fixmymac@me.com.

Claiming Your Product


  • If you have not claimed your product and paid all charges due after being notified that your product has been repaired, If uncollected after 90 days from notification, we may treat as abandoned and dispose of/sell the product in accordance with applicable law (including serving required notices where necessary) to recover costs.

General


  • Every effort will be made to ensure that you receive a level of service that is unmatched. If you are unhappy with any aspect of this, please make your feelings known as soon as possible. Any matter that results in legal action will be handled under Scottish Law. We provide services with reasonable care and skill as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015."
